Love is in the air: Qantas

Insight: The "man drought" is a demographic reality in Australia — for every 100 women, there are only 98.6 men. When you’re single and flying solo there’s that hopeful moment when you’re finding your seat, who will you be seated next to?

Idea: With Qantas flying to 95 different destinations around the world we’re helping singles tap into a new dating pool. We are no longer leaving it up to chance, using seat selection and uninterrupted flight time to help singles find love.

Execution: When our passengers book their tickets through the Qantas website they will be able to see where other singles are seated onboard. They can strategically sit next to a potential match.

For the launch we partner with Tinder to promote profiles of potential matches who you could choose to fly with at the same time along with promotional discounts.

Love Airline - A Special Teaser Episode

Qantas sponsors the match making reality show Love Island. One guy and one girl from the contestants will have been given the advantage. Using the Qantas seat selection feature to get a head start in their quest for love on the flight to the island.

The Love Airways moments are filmed and released online as a special teaser episode before Love Island airs on streaming.
